Teachers, You Are Appreciated

posted May 10, 2018, 9:58 AM by Lauren Coffman

May 7th thru May 11th is teacher appreciation week. As principal teacher appreciation week means something totally different to me. It means I have an opportunity to work with an outstanding group of teachers that care more about student success than their own personal time. How I know this is teacher vehicles are in the parking lot when I get here of the morning and are still there when I leave in the afternoon. I have an opportunity to work with a group of teachers that care about students personally as well as students. How I know this is I hear students talk about the way teachers care about them. I have an opportunity to work with a group of teachers that care about their school. How I know this because ever time volunteers are needed for something they respond in seconds not days. What I am trying to say is that I am very fortunate to work with the teachers at Livingston Academy. I want you to know you are appreciated.

A Little Bit About Me...

The first thing I want to do is tell you a little more about myself. I was born in Albany Kentucky and graduated from Clinton County High School. I attended Eastern Kentucky University. I have a B.S. degree in Technology Education, a Masters degree in Technology Education, and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership. Pryor to accepting the position of principal at Livingston Academy I was the assistant principal at Clinton County High School for five years. Before that I was the assistant principal at Clinton County Middle School for two years. In total this is my 24th year in education. I am married to Susan and we have one son Thomas. The start to this school year has been a tremendous success due to the hard work of the teachers, administration,  and staff. I could not ask for a better group of people to work with. I am looking forward to working with and serving the community of Overton county for many years to come.
