The Livingston Academy basketball teams closed out the regular season in front of the largest crowd of the season at Derward Vaughn Memorial Gymnasium on Thursday, February 5, with wins over Upperman.  It was Senior Night and 11 Senior basketball players were honored before the games.  The Senior girls that received recognition were:  Taylor Witt, Tatum Dillon, Kailey Winningham, Jameson Dailey, Alexis Savage and Addy Stover.  The Senior boys were Wade Eldridge, Kaleb Qualls, Loren Crowder, Drew Gore and Zac Craig.  The LA and Upperman girls were playing for the regular season crown and the #1 seed in the District 8AA tournament.  LA girls defeated Upperman 64-46 and were led in scoring by Kailey Winningham with 18 points.  The LA boys had already cemented their 2nd place finish in the District before the game vs Upperman.  The Wildcats defeated the Bees by a score of 65-63 in a game that was very close throughout and saw the LA boys trail for much of the 2nd half.  Wade Eldridge was the leading score for HOGEYE as he had 20 points in the contest.  The District 8AA tournament will commence next week and will be played at Cookeville High School.
